Agenda Highlights: Ana Cubas and Stella Maloyan are scheduled to be appointed to the Board of Los Angeles Convention and Tourism Development for a term expiring on June 30, 2022 (CF-17-0892 and CF-15-0074). Lynn Alvarez reaapointed to the Board of Recreation and Parks (CF-11-0260).

The council is taking action against food trucks that violate parking restrictions as the cost of doing business (CF-09-2357-S4).

Inmates in LAPD jails can call and video conference using the services of Telmate, LLC. The city will collect $0.24 per minute of call time for the Inmate Welfare Fund and 25% of teleconferencing revenue. Telmate to be compensated through fees to inmates per minute and per transaction. Current call rates are $0.65 per minute and will drop to $0.41 per minute. Video conferencing will be $0.05 per minute (CF-17-0778).

Agenda Highlights: Arizona travel ban lifted for two LAPD forensics employees to receive training (CF-17-0968). Numerous resolutions to support various pieces of statewide legislation to be included in the city's 2017-2018 State Legislative Program. Notable inclusions: support for AB 291 (Chiu) to prohibit landlords from threatening to disclose immigration status of tenants to federal immigration authorities and support for SB 10 (Hertzberg) which would reform the money bail system, allowing poor defendants to be released before trial.
